Joint operation led by the District Special Operations Unit in collaboration with the District Intelligence Division, NISG-NCR, Sub Station-2 Taguig City Police Station, and representatives from the Field Regulatory Operations Office (FROO) and Regulatory Enforcement Unit (REU) of the FDA, on Wednesday (August 7) at about 1:30PM resulted in the arrest of four individuals for violation related to the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) Law.

Acting on Search Warrant No. 2024-052 issued by Hon. Mariam Bien, Presiding Judge of RTC Branch 153 Taguig City, law enforcement teams conducted operation at a warehouse inside the Veterans Center, Taguig City. The operation was targeted at addressing the illegal sale of unregistered food products, specifically luncheon meat.

Arrested during the operation were alias Angelica, 29, business owner, alias Kristine, 44, cashier/secretary; alias Mhar, 33, warehouse man, and alias Joey, 41, warehouse man. Additionally, alias Jinky, alias Harry, and alias Insu are currently at large and subject to follow-up operation.

During the operation, authorities seized significant evidence including marked money, sales receipts, and 1,355 boxes of unregistered luncheon meat with an estimated market price of ₱3,252,000.00.

All arrested suspects were informed of their rights but opted to remain silent. They were subsequently brought to DSOU-SPD for documentation and the filing of complaint for violation of Section 11 of the Republic Act 9711, or the FDA Law.

In connection with FDA’s “Oplan Katharos,” a Report of Violation has been issued against the establishment for operating without a License to Operate and for possession and selling of unregistered food products.

The investigation remains ongoing, with DSOU-SPD and FDA officials exploring further criminal and administrative complaints.
