A Chinese national was arrested in Parañaque City for grave threat, violation of the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunitions Act (RA 10591), and violation of gun ban. The arrest occurred near a local hotel in Barangay Don Galo, Parañaque City at approximately 8:10 PM of October 16.

The suspect was identified as alias Liu, 32 years old, he failed to present a physical passport at the time of arrest. The complainant is alias Fang, a 24-year-old Chinese national.

According to the initial investigation, both Liu and Fang were on board a white Ford Explorer, driven by 27-year-old alias Mark when the two had a heated argument. Alias Liu suddenly pulled out a firearm and pointed it at alias Fang. Alias Mark immediately stopped the vehicle and sought help from a nearby bystander who alerted the police.

Personnel of Parañaque CPS Investigation and Detective Management Section who were in the area for follow up investigation quickly responded to the scene. Upon arrival, Mark and Fang had already disarmed Liu. The officers then arrested Liu and seized a 9mm pistol with serial number RIA1775640, loaded with five rounds of ammunition.

Complaints for grave threat, violation of RA 10591, and violation of the gun ban are being prepared against the suspect for filing through inquest proceedings before the Parañaque City Prosecutor’s Office.
