Taguig City Police arrested a suspect during drug buy-bust operation and incidentally caught in possession of illegal firearms in Barangay Central Bicutan Taguig City at about 4:45AM of Tuesday (July 16)

The operation, led by operatives from the Station Drug Enforcement Unit in coordination with personnel from Sub-Station 7 resulted in the arrest of the suspect identified as alias Joy, male, 47 years old and working as a contractor.

During the buy-bust operation, law enforcement seized 31.6 grams of suspected shabu with an estimated street value of ₱214,880.00. Additionally, one caliber .45 Armscor pistol, five live ammunition rounds, one magazine, genuine ₱500 bill and ₱6,000.00 in boodle money used for the operation were confiscated.

Alias Joy will face complaint for violation of Section 5 and Section 11 of Republic Act 9165, also known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, as well as Republic Act 10591, the Comprehensive Law on Firearms and Ammunition.

Recovered pieces of evidence will be turned over to the Southern Police District Forensic Unit (SPDFU) for analysis.
