
The Makati City Police Station arrested a suspect for violations under the Comprehensive Law on Firearms and Ammunition (R.A. 10591). The arrest took place at approximately 10:00 PM on June 2, 2024, at Brgy. Guadalupe Nuevo, Makati City.
The suspect has been identified as Alias Jonathan, 33 years old, male, residing at Constancia St., Olympia, Makati City.
Accordingly, the police officers from Guadalupe Police Sub-Station were conducting an Oplan Sita operation when they flagged down the suspect for multiple traffic violations, including the unauthorized use of a blinker, not wearing a safety helmet, and operating a motorcycle without side mirrors.
During the routine verification process, the officers noticed a pistol butt partially visible on the suspect’s waistline. When asked to provide documentation for the firearm, the suspect was unable to produce any. Consequently, the police officers confiscated a .45 Colt pistol without a serial number, along with a magazine loaded with six rounds of ammunition.
Alias Jonathan will be charged under Violation of R.A. 10591, which governs the ownership, possession, and use of firearms and ammunition in the Philippines. He is now under the custody of Makati CPS.
