Parañaque City Police apprehended a Vietnamese national for violation of Article 151 of the Revised Penal Code (RPC) and Section 11, Article II of Republic Act 9165, otherwise known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

The incident transpired at 4:55 PM of Wednesday (April 24), along Bayview Drive in Barangay Tambo, Parañaque City. The suspect, identified as alias Hoang, a 20-year-old male, Vietnamese national, was taken into custody following a routine patrol conducted by the Officer in Charge (OIC) of Peace and Order, Brgy Tambo and his driver.

According to initial reports, the suspect was observed urinating on a wall in the area. Upon approaching the suspect to address the situation, he displayed disobedience and resisted arrest. In the ensuing confrontation, a transparent sealed sachet containing yellow pills inadvertently fell from the suspect. Despite attempts to evade capture, the suspect was apprehended with the assistance of law enforcement personnel.

Following the apprehension, Peace and Order personnel sought the assistance of the duty Pulis Sa Barangay (PSB) to conduct thorough body search. During the search, two self-sealed transparent plastic sachets containing white crystalline substance suspected to be shabu, and one self-sealing plastic sachet containing five yellow pills suspected to be ecstasy, were seized.

The arrested suspect was subsequently taken to the Parañaque City Police Station Drug Enforcement Unit for documentation and disposition. Meanwhile, the seized illegal drug items will be turned over to the Southern Police District Forensic Unit (SPDFU) for quantitative and qualitative analysis.
